I have only just moved to Sky Broadband, managed to configure a new business related email account using MS Outlook 2003, it is for a new company I am setting up from home.
I have been sending & receiving emails fine, but noticed that despite setting up the account under a .co.uk address, all of my emails from that account are from sky.com, took 45 mins & 2 calls for someone at Sky to tell me that they are unable to help as they do not support this package! Despite 2 calls I still can't believe this is right and I wanted to see whether anyone out there might be able to shed some light?? By the way, shocking customer service culminating in the most arrogant person in SKY cancellations, awful!!!!! |

These e-mail addresses provided by ISP's are a big no no if you are going to be in business for a long time. Go for Google's Gmail premium service and use your own domain for e-mails and use the gmail client. Thats what I do and I am extremely happy with the service and the spam filters in place are the best in the world.
Expenses : Buying the domain : mynewbusiness.co.uk for $10 per year Google's Premium gmail service for businesses : depends on number of e-mail addresses you want using your domain After doing the above you can create e-mail addresses using gmail platform which would look like yourname@mynewbusiness.co.uk Do give me a shout if you need more help on this and to be honest I wouldnt bother with sky e-mail address and their customer service.. they are an ISP and thats what they are good at.. need an e-mail address? Go for Gmail... they are the best. |
