Apparently Toucan and Tiscali have the same Technical support center.
They have the same Support center in India. Earlier the Support centers were different, but Tiscali all of a sudden have decided to have all their Centers at one place. Which is a big risk as if that center goes down they are going to have big trouble when it goes down. They dont have any back up for it. |

The reason these broadband providers and a lot of other companies have their support centres in India or other countries is to cut costs. A call centre employee here in UK would get paid say £14000-18000 a year depending on how long the employee has been working with the company and the location besides other factors and if the same company was to hire some one in India with the same skill level and education they can hire 4-5 employees with the same amount of money.
So it does make sense for all the companies to have their customer service centres set up in India or other countries where they keep their employee costs at a bare minimum. Some one please correct me if I am wrong
